Two or three filter belts are designed to compress each other in continuous operation to deliver continuous dewatered cake. It is still under depth filtration family whereby the equipment relies on belt filters porosity to perform separation.<\/p><p>A belt press is designed to handle slurry up to in order of 80-m3\/hour (assumptions apply) which is relatively difficult to be handled by a single filter press of an equal capital cost. Its inherently simple construction due to \u2018open non-enclosed\u2019 design makes it popular choice for handling biological based sludges.<\/p><p>Belt press however, utilises large amount of water to perform continuous belt filter washing which could be the major hindering factor to operational efficiency.
